Hydroplaned Into a False Reality!

Whatever hardcore electronic genre you want to call DI4LECT FR0M REfLECTIONS, it certainly goes all in at all times. The garishly produced work from the eclectic Hydroplaned Into a False Reality! takes a recklessly over cranked approach to form in a self-destructive experiment that’s blitzed out of its mind, if you can afford some ear drum bleeding.

With an unsubtle usage of samples less transformed and more deep fried, blown out by a tearing bass and layered in a wash of effects, this 10-track run brings a party that starts hard but quickly overstays its welcome.

If the balance is too aggressively deafening in tracks like the aptly named “THE LOÜD MACHINE” or the sludgy assault of “PET SEMATARY,” The ecstatic glitz of ‘ONTo THE NEXT…..” and the saturated cool of “ARMS ★★★★★” make the first half of the album a fascinating listen. Maybe more so for fans of electronic looking to hear something creatively shattered and borderline antagonistic to its audience. A tighter selection would make this album a punch and not a headache, but Hydroplaned Into a False Reality!’s creativity and sheer audacity makes it work far more than it has any right to.

P.S. – If you are looking for something slower paced and gentle, you may want to check out Hydroplaned Into a False Reality!’s two recent ‘wave focused releases. virtual console is the weaker of the two, more soundtrack asset pack than album. However, d a m a c y goes fully into the dreamlike reimagination of its production, warping its sources into a hazy and floating experience to be a prime example of it’s genre.
